Of Carps And Dragons

The five Chinese characters 鲤鱼跳龙門 (Li Yu Tiao Long Men) literally mean: "The carp jumps over the dragon gate".
The painting features a jumping carp in rapidly flowing water.
In China, a red carp symbolizes wealth and water stands for money because both of them can flow.
According to the legend, the fish that not only managed the hardship of traveling upstream to reach the dragon gate but was also well prepared to master the jump over it, turned into a dragon.
